Paul15k 0
Posted Saturday at 10:48 AM Hello, I am a US Bridge painter. I belong to the IUPAT (International Union of Painters and Allied Trades) . I am currently going through the unions three year bridge painter apprenticeship. I am certain that I want to paint, blast, and inspect as a rope access technician. I am having a very hard time finding rope access companies that are affiliated the the IUPAT. My first question is whether anyone knows any of these affiliated companies in the US. My second question is whether I am wasting my time going through this apprenticeship and maybe be better served by getting a level 1 sprat or irate cert right away and trying to find an entry level rope access position? Thank you.
Root Admin admin 602 Posted January 17, 2020 Root Admin Share Posted January 17, 2020 There aren't a lot of US Rope Access companies affiliated. However, the skills you will be picking up during your three years will be invaluable - they will be very handy for you when combined with a Rope Access ticket.
